Case Study #1

Client: Manufactruer

Situation: Client hired the Legacy Results to assist in developing a 3-year strategic vision for the company and to help determine the strategic direction of their Company.

Performance Diagnostics revealed the following:

  1. Client was not experiencing growth because of a lack of emphasis on marketing and a low time priority on business development.
  2. Various initiatives were reviewed that revealed that there were ongoing issues in focus on various assignments, which was reducing attention fo the executive management team .
  3. Members of the management team were not aligned in the proper role based upon their Kolbe profile. Excellent performers had been promoted to group managers but their Kolbe revealed that their natural behavior was more oriented to the high detail and follow through required in their original jobs.
  4. Employee survey told us that they felt people in the company were not being held accountable and that there was not a shared vision for the future.
  5. Customer survey told us that the company was customer friendly, but lack of organization and delivery within deadlines was pointed out as an area of improvement.

Client: Closely held distributor of business to business products

Situation: Client hired the Legacy Results to assist in developing a 3-year strategic vision for the company and to increase the ability to rely on the company’s financial system.

Performance Diagnostics revealed the following:

  1. Client was stuck in the commodity trap where lowest price was the main determinate of whether they won business.
  2. Financial analysis of his company revealed that a division of the company was operating below break even and was trending toward increasing losses.
  3. Members of the management team were not aligned in the proper role based upon their natural behavior analysis. Wrong people in the wrong roles.
  4. Employee survey told us that the employees were unclear about corporate goals and objectives.
  5. Customer survey pointed out various service issues that needed to be addressed.

Case Study #3

Client: Medium sized business consulting group operating on a nationwide basis from a Midwest headquarters

Situation: Client hired Legacy Results to assist in re-organizing the company into a self-sustaining operation that would make the operation less reliant on the owner’s day to day participation. Client wishes to address the business model from one consisting entirely of personal services to a model that mixes information products with his consulting.

Performance Diagnostics revealed the following:

  1. Our analysis indicated that President had high natural behavior towards innovation and entrepreneurial activities. Other members of the management team had valuable unique abilities, but were not in the right roles based on the natural behavior. None of the management team members had the natural behavior to be managing others.
  2. Client surveys indicated that the business was viewed as being entirely dependant on the owner (read One Man Band). The company was viewed as spread too thin and currently not able to handle additional work.
  3. Employee survey indicated lack of knowledge of a strategic plan throughout the organization. It was stated that there was low level of accountability assumed by personnel. A formal salary review process and performance appraisal system was not in place.
  4. Financial analysis showed a higher than desired turnover of clients and employees. Company did not have a steady history of growth, but instead seemed to have a cycle of prosperity followed by a drought in projects.
